Privacy Policy

Our privacy commitment

Viraam is built on a simple idea: your wellness data is yours alone. Break reminders and productivity tools should help you without compromising your privacy.

Data we don't collect

Viraam doesn't collect, receive or transmit:

• Personal identification information
• Usage analytics or telemetry from the app (Viraam has no analytics code)
• Your break history or patterns
• Calendar event contents
• Audio or video recordings
• Screen content or screenshots
• Keystroke or activity data

Data stored on your Mac

The following data is stored on your Mac so the app works. It stays on your Mac (and in your own backups, such as Time Machine) and isn't sent to us:

• Break history: records of completed and skipped breaks, for your personal statistics
• Preferences: your settings, break intervals, working hours and customizations
• Streak data: your wellness streak counts and achievements
• License status: whether you're in a trial or have purchased

This data is kept in your Mac's standard app preferences and the Keychain. You can delete all of it at any time from Settings.

Permissions we request

Calendar access (optional)

If you turn on calendar integration, Viraam reads your calendar only to show your events on the Focus timer. Calendar data is processed on your Mac. Event details aren't stored or transmitted, and Viraam doesn't change your calendar.

Meeting detection (automatic)

Viraam detects active video calls (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, FaceTime) by checking which apps are running on your Mac, so it can pause break reminders during meetings. It doesn't access your camera, microphone or any call content, only whether a meeting app is running.

Notifications

Viraam uses its own notifications to deliver break reminders. They're created on your Mac and aren't sent anywhere.

Third-party services

The Viraam app doesn't include any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. The outside connections are:

• Apple App Store: for purchases and license validation, handled entirely by Apple.
• Our website, www.viraam.app (not the app): it uses two analytics services. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us anonymous traffic counts, with no cookies. VisitorTracking helps us understand how people find and use the website: it records the pages you view, how long you stay, where you came from, your approximate location, your browser and device, and actions such as clicking through to the App Store. It uses a first-party cookie to recognise repeat visits, processes your IP address (which VisitorTracking says it encrypts or anonymises), and may try to identify the organisation your connection belongs to, but not you by name. We use this only to understand interest in Viraam, and we don't sell it. See VisitorTracking's privacy policy. Website analytics apply to the website only and give us no access to your Viraam app activity.

What Apple shares with us

Apple collects its own information under Apple's Privacy Policy. Separately from Viraam's app data, Apple shares two kinds of information with app developers like us:

• Crash reports and diagnostics, only if you've chosen to share analytics with app developers (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements). We use them only to find and fix problems.
• Aggregated App Store figures, such as downloads, sales and how many Macs use the app. These are anonymous totals and don't identify you.

Neither includes your name, your Apple Account, your break history or what you do in Viraam. You can stop sharing crash data with developers at any time in the setting above.

Data security

Your data is protected by:

• macOS App Sandbox restrictions
• Keychain encryption for sensitive data (license status, trial information)
• Viraam doesn't send your break history, calendar or activity data to Yogkul LLC or to any analytics service

Your rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: see all your data in the Statistics and Settings screens.
• Delete: clear everything from Settings › General › Clear All Data.
• Portability: your data exists only on your Mac, in standard macOS formats.

We don't sell personal information. The Viraam app doesn't track you across apps or websites, so in the app there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" signal to turn off. On our website, VisitorTracking runs only after you agree in the website's privacy banner, and you can change your choice or block cookies in your browser at any time. Because the app sends us no personal information, there is nothing from the app for us to access, correct or delete on request. For website analytics data, email us and we'll help with any request to access or delete it.

Children's privacy

Viraam doesn't knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app has no features that target or appeal specifically to children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with an updated date. If a change ever affects what data Viraam handles, we'll also say so in the app's release notes.
