Viraam for iPhone & iPad: Privacy Policy
Yogkul LLC · Last updated: October 12, 2026
Viraam uses private information on your device to provide mindful pauses, reminders and practices, and that information stays there. Through the app, we don't collect, receive or sell your personal information. No account. No analytics. No advertising. No tracking.
This policy covers Viraam for iPhone & iPad. Viraam for Mac has its own policy.
What we don't collect
- Your name, email or any account details (there are no accounts)
- Usage analytics or telemetry from the app (Viraam has no analytics code)
- Which apps you use, or how long you use them
- Your step counts or any health data
- Your practice history
- Your payment details
- Your screen content, what you type, or your camera or microphone (Viraam doesn't ask for camera or microphone access)
Data Viraam processes on your device
To work, Viraam uses some information on your iPhone or iPad. Using it isn't the same as collecting it: this information stays on your device (and in your own device backups), isn't sent to us, and is deleted when you delete the app. The one exception is Mindful Minutes you chose to save to Apple Health: those live in Health (and sync through iCloud if you use Health with iCloud) until you remove them there.
- The apps you chose for a mindful pause, held only as Apple's private Screen Time tokens
- Mindful pause settings, such as how long a visit lasts before the pause returns
- Screen Time activity signals that Apple's framework uses to start pauses and reminders on your device
- Your practice history, day history and your pause counts
- Reminder settings: your hours, how many pauses a day, quiet times, Wind Down and meal reminders
- Your whys, in your own words
- Recent step counts from your device's motion sensor
- Your preferences, including meditation and morning settings, and when you last opened the app
- Your purchase status (which plan you have), as confirmed by Apple
- Mindful Minutes, if you choose to save them to Apple Health
Apple Health
Viraam can write Mindful Minutes to the Health app after a breathing or mindfulness session, if you allow it. That is the only Health data Viraam touches.
Viraam reads nothing from Health. It never requests access to any of your health data, so it can't see it.
Mindful Minutes Viraam has written stay in Health until you remove them. You can delete them, or turn off Viraam's access, in the Health app at any time. Viraam doesn't use Health data for advertising and doesn't share it with anyone.
Step counting
Viraam uses your device's motion sensors (Core Motion) to count steps during a Move practice, and reads your recent step counts, such as your steps so far today or since you last opened Viraam, to show how much you've moved between breaks. Your iPhone keeps this motion data for a limited time; Viraam reads it on your device only, doesn't use Apple Health for steps, and doesn't send step counts anywhere. Step counting is available on iPhone; iPad has no motion sensor for steps.
Screen Time and mindful pauses
When you choose apps for a mindful pause, you choose them in Apple's own Screen Time picker. Apple's Screen Time framework then handles those apps and any time figures inside its own protected process.
Viraam keeps your choices only as Apple's private tokens. App names and usage figures are drawn on your screen by Apple's framework; Viraam doesn't receive them as data, and nothing about which apps you chose or how you use them is sent anywhere. In practice Viraam is unable to read that information: Apple's Screen Time keeps it private. Viraam doesn't use Screen Time information for advertising, profiling or analytics.
Notifications
Viraam schedules reminders, Wind Down and the optional trial reminder as local notifications on your device. Reminder schedules and notification content stay on your device. There are no push notifications and no server involved.
Widgets and system features
Viraam shares a small amount of app state, such as today's pause count and your next pause, with its own Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and its Control Center control, so those features can work. This stays inside Viraam and its extensions on your device.
Purchases
Subscriptions, the free trial and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. Viraam uses Apple's StoreKit to check which plan you have, so it can unlock the app. We don't see your name, Apple Account or payment details. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Third parties
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code.
Our website (www.viraam.app) uses two analytics services, separate from the app. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us anonymous traffic counts, with no cookies. VisitorTracking helps us understand how people find and use the website: it records the pages you view, how long you stay, where you came from, your approximate location, your browser and device, and actions such as clicking through to the App Store. It uses a first-party cookie to recognise repeat visits, processes your IP address (which VisitorTracking says it encrypts or anonymises), and may try to identify the organisation your connection belongs to, but not you by name. We use this only to understand interest in Viraam, and we don't sell it. See VisitorTracking's privacy policy. Website analytics apply to the website only and give us no access to your Viraam app activity.
What Apple shares with us
Apple collects its own information under Apple's Privacy Policy. Separately from Viraam's app data, Apple shares two kinds of information with app developers like us:
- Crash reports and diagnostics, only if you've chosen to share analytics with app developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements). We use them only to find and fix problems.
- Aggregated App Store figures, such as downloads, sales and how many devices use the app. These are anonymous totals and don't identify you.
Neither includes your name, your Apple Account, which apps you chose, or what you do in Viraam. You can stop sharing crash data with developers at any time in the setting above.
Security
Viraam runs inside Apple's app sandbox, and its data is kept in its own storage on your device, protected by your device's built-in encryption and passcode. Viraam doesn't send your wellness, Screen Time, practice or activity data to Yogkul LLC or to any analytics service, so there is no server copy of it to secure or lose.
Your choices and control
- Health: turn off Viraam's access or delete its Mindful Minutes in the Health app.
- Screen Time: remove Viraam's Screen Time access in Settings › Screen Time, or change your chosen apps inside Viraam. Without Screen Time access, the mindful pause before apps stops working; reminders and practices keep working, and you can allow access again at any time.
- Motion: turn off Motion & Fitness access for Viraam in Settings › Privacy & Security.
- Notifications: turn them off in Settings › Notifications › Viraam.
- Delete everything: deleting Viraam removes all of its data from your device. Mindful Minutes in Health stay until you delete them there.
Children
Viraam isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
We don't sell personal information. The Viraam app doesn't track you across apps or websites, so in the app there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" signal to turn off. On our website, VisitorTracking runs only after you agree in the website's privacy banner, and you can change your choice or block cookies in your browser at any time. Because the app sends us no personal information, there is nothing from the app for us to access, correct or delete on request; your app data lives on your device and in Apple's services, under your control. For website analytics data, email us and we'll help with any request to access or delete it. If you have a question about your privacy, email us and we'll answer.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with an updated date. If a future feature changes how Viraam handles personal information, we'll update this policy before or when that feature becomes available, and say so in the app's release notes.
